Upper Primary
Mathematics Programme
Stepping up from Primary 3, students face a big transition from computational math to problem solving. Both children and parents struggle to cope with this significant change in difficulty and examination format.
Our upper primary programme focus on helping students develop heuristics and problem solving skills. We equip students with skills to interpret questions, identify key information and apply our versatile techniques to solve problems efficiently and skillfully.
An entry Math Capability Assessment helps us identify the learning needs of your child. Our low student to tutor ratio allow us to help students with different learning needs.
The curriculum team at Compass Alpha ensures that our worksheets are up-to-date and relevant. Our specially designed worksheets include:
- Concept Builders to kick start students in learning new mathematical concepts or problem solving techniques
- Questions arranged by type and difficulty to effectively equip students to handle routine questions to questions involving higher order thinking skills
- Concept Assessments to evaluate the level of mastery of each mathematical concept/problem solving technique
From the assessments, each student will receive a Concept Matrix, which serves as a good indicator of the level of understanding and highlight key areas of improvement.
